Lady Du prepares for the release of her sophomore studio album, titled "Underrated".

Lady Du has established herself as a consistent anthem launchpad in the Amapiano scene. Despite having only one body of work so far, she has delivered numerous infectious releases that have garnered attention from her peers and fans alike. However, she is now gearing up for her next studio project, signaling a change in her musical journey.

Lady Du is known for her meticulous approach to songwriting, which has captivated the Amapiano community since 2020. Her collaboration with Busta 929, Mpura, Mr JazziQ, Zuma & Reece Madlisa on “Umsebenzi Wethu” was a breakthrough moment for her. In the following year, she continued to make waves with tracks like “uZuma Yi Star” and “Woza” alongside Mr JazziQ, Kabza De Small & Boohle, solidifying her reputation as a talented vocalist.

Now, Lady Du has exciting news to share. She has announced that her second studio project, titled “Underrated,” is currently in progress. Set to be released on her birthday, May 17, the project will be introduced by the pre-release single “NGWENYA,” featuring Nkosazana Daughter.

In anticipation of the upcoming release, Lady Du expressed her personal connection to the project. She shared, “I’m an African child born from the NGWENYA family!! I’ve faced numerous challenges in my life, and I believe my grandfather would be immensely proud if he were alive. On the 10th, we will unveil my first single from the EP, titled ‘NGWENYA,’ featuring the incredible vocalist @nkosazana_daughter, who has taught me so much about myself in such a short period of time! Finally, on my actual birthday, May 17th, I will release my EP. I have collaborated with talented individuals who I believe South Africa needs to see! These vocal powerhouses will be showcased in the EP. I chose the title ‘UNDERRATED’ to represent all the artists who feel they deserve recognition but face obstacles preventing them from reaching their full potential.”

The upcoming project will feature contributions from Aymos, Nkosazana Daughter, Professor, T-Man SA, Dinky Kunene, Ntokzin, and Shino kikai. When it hits the Amapiano arena on May 17th, “Underrated” is sure to make a lasting impact.
