The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is back once again

The return of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival after a four-year break has left jazz fans in a state of excitement. The city of Cape Town was illuminated with vibrant colors as the 21st edition of the festival took place. According to News24, thousands of jazz enthusiasts gathered at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the 3rd and 4th of May to witness both local and international jazz stars grace the festival stage.

To kick off the festivities, a free concert was held at Greenmarket Square on the 2nd of May, which proved to be a delightful experience for all in attendance. The lineup for the two nights included talented artists such as Judith Sephuma, Billy Monama, Ami Faku, Radio Sechaba, Mervyn Africa, Mörda, Mi Casa, and many more.

International artists like Matt Bianco, Moonchild, Francesca Biancoli, and the Yussef Dayes Experience also showcased their incredible talent on stages named Kippies, Moses Molelekwa, Rosies, and Manenberg.

In a press statement, espAfrika, the events management and production company responsible for the festival, expressed their satisfaction with this year’s programming. They highlighted the diverse audience from all corners of the country and beyond, who had the opportunity to experience the festival, some for the first time and others reconnecting with the music and fellow festival lovers.
