Yanga Chief has released a fresh EP called ‘Imvelaphi’, showcasing his emotional side and experimenting with his sound. In the EP’s lead single, ‘Xa Ukhona’, he expresses his desires for himself with the lyrics, “Pray to the God I have unlimited flows.” The captivating hook is skillfully delivered by Zuko SA.
Moving on to the next track, ‘She Baba’, Yanga Chief effortlessly raps over a mid-tempo Kwaito production. Kwesta, known for his mastery of Kwaito-inspired beats, makes a guest appearance on ‘Guluva’. Yanga Chief collaborates with emerging Cape Town rapper Kid Kapa on the Afro-Pop-infused love song ‘Emehlweni’.
The theme of love continues with ‘Mbali yam’, while the closing song ‘Gang Gang’, featuring guitarist Tshego AMG, transports you to the nostalgic vibes of vintage Mbaqanga music.
