Months after announcing their departure from Soweto, the renowned bar and upscale nightclub, Konka Soweto, has officially ceased operations.
Renowned for its luxurious ambiance and high-end offerings, Konka Soweto has been a dominant force in the South African entertainment industry since its inception a few years ago, attracting some of the biggest names not only in South Africa but across the entire African continent.
Having bid farewell to Soweto and embarking on a rebranding journey, the prominent nightclub has officially closed its doors in the town and is preparing to embark on the next phase of its journey. According to a source close to Konka’s management, the establishment has secured a new location in Sandton and is set to reopen in the upcoming months.
In a heartfelt message to their loyal patrons and supporters, Konka Soweto expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support received throughout their time in Soweto. They acknowledged the special moments shared and connections made at Konka Soweto, emphasizing the significance of each individual’s presence in shaping the venue into a cherished space filled with memories. The statement also hinted at an enhanced Konka experience awaiting guests at the new Sandton location.
Prior to bidding farewell to their Soweto branch, Konka hosted a memorable closing event featuring renowned artists such as Maphorisa, Dbn Gogo, Dlala Thukzin, and others, with the event being hosted by Kabza De Small and Oscar Mbo.
